If a patron wants an item that can not be located in the SPLASH catalog, try to find the item in Link+ (https://linkencore.iii.com/iii/encore/?lang=eng&suite=def).
If you cannot find it in either of these places, procuring a Zip Book might be possible.
If not, you could see if it is available in the USA through WorldCat (https://www.worldcat.org/). If it is, go to the Library's home page (https://benicialibrary.org/) and choose the "Collections" tab, and then select "Make a Request". https://benicialibrary.org/collections/make-a-request
The SPLASH Catalog information is presented first and this is a good reminder that you should check the SPLASH Catalog prior to initiating an Interlibrary Loan Request (i.e. Request Partner Request).
For Items NOT found in SPLASH:
Click on "Make a Request" icon to request an item through the City of Benicia's Request Partner system.
- Look up the item's information (i.e. cost, publisher, publishing date, ISBN (or ASIN)) through Amazon or other publisher website.
- Fill in the Request Partner form completely.
- Note: if the item is a new publication (within last 6 months). If yes, then indicate: purchase instead of ILL request.
- If you know the dewey number of the item, select the appropriate staff member.
- For items published more then 6 months ago, selecting ILL is an acceptable option.

- Select the Submit Request button.
- The screen will update and you will have the opportunity to Complete Request or Edit Request if corrections are needed.
