In Repair
MENDING = IN REPAIR
We do not mend items belonging to other libraries.
Items should be sent to mending:
- if found on the shelf with water damage, torn binding, etc.
- if being returned with a "damaged item" slip in it already, either Benicia's (white or orange) or SNAP's (grey)
An item should NOT be sent to Mending:
- if the damage has occurred due to patron's actions. SEE: Damaged Items page in this Wiki.
Putting Items In Repair
Check in the item
If it does not trigger a hold:
- Click on the item to open the Item Record
- Click the Details tab
- In the Details screen, near the middle, is a drop-down menu for Circulation Status
- Select In Repair
- Scroll up and Save
If the item triggers a hold:
- In the Fill Hold Request box, click NO
- In the Reactivate Hold? box, click YES
- Click on the item to open the Item Record
- Click the Details tab
- In the Details screen, near the middle, is a drop-down menu for Circulation Status
- Select In Repair
- Scroll up and Save
