Holds Extending

EXTENDING HOLDS

The CSD staff can extend a patron’s existing hold (an item currently on the Hold Shelf) ONE time for three days.

If a patron asks for their hold to be extended:
1) Tell the patron the day it can be held until (three days past the current Hold Until date on their account).
2) Place the patron’s call on hold.
3) Go to the Hold Shelf with a RED pen and cross out the original Pull Date and replace it with the new Pull Date and your initials.
4) Return to the phone call and let the patron know the hold has been extended.

Never extend Link+ or ILL holds. -9/8/25
