$1.00 per sheet for sending faxes. $1 per page up to $25 max per job (up to 30 pages). A job can be no bigger than 30 pages due to the constraints of the fax machine.
Each time you dial a number you should count this as a job whether it is 30 pages or 1 page. For example, a person with 48 pages would be charged $25 for the first 30 pages and $18 for the 18 remaining pages.
If the patron wishes to use a cover sheet there is a folder containing cover sheets near the fax machine. A cover sheet will count as a faxed page and costs $1 to fax. Find a fax cover sheet in the fax cover sheets folder next to the fax machine.
-Ring up as fine/fees.
(Take fees AFTER faxing is complete in case the call doesn't go through the first time and may need to be re-dialed.)
To SEND a fax:
-Press the FAX button
-Place page(s) face up in the feeder tray or face down on the glass
-Dial 9 and the number (long distance requires 1 and the area code after the 9)
-Tap OK
-Push start button.
-It can take a while for the transaction to finish. If it cannot be completed, even after redials, ask the patron to come at a different time of day. Do not leave the desk to fax on the staff machine.
-Multi-part jobs can proceed as long as no other jobs are waiting.
Allow patrons with a one part job to have their job faxed in between a multi-part one.
Please ask the patron to wait for the confirmation page that is printed after the fax has gone through. This is proof that the fax has been received at its destination. You can give them this page (no charge for the confirmation page).
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE FAXES AT THIS TIME.
Our current fax machine does not give us the ability to receive faxes and we DO NOT want to receive faxes at the staff fax machine for many reasons including confidentiality.
