Damaged Items - No Fault

If a patron brings in an item and reports a problem (disc does not play or skips, binding fell apart), or the item has a grey SPLASH partners slip indicating damage at checkout, please follow these instructions:

If it's our item

  • Check it in and change its status to "In Repair"
  • Fill out the appropriate mending slip (white for books, orange for media & board/card games)
  • Place it on the appropriate mending shelf.

If it's a partner's item

  • Return the item
  • Send it with the grey SPLASH Damaged Item slip, or one of our mending slips explaining the damage
  • Put your initials, our branch, and the date if sending one of our mending slips

Any item that is moving between libraries in the delivery must show a status of in transit.
