Damaged and/or Lost Items

If a patron wants to pay for an item they lost that is checked out:

If the item is a damaged or lost Interlibrary Loan give it to Julia. If it is a LINK+ item, give it to Robbi. Do not mark it lost or paid.

LOST ITEMS:

  • Find the item on the patron's card.
  • Checkmark the box next to the title.
  • Click "Declare Lost".
  • In the box that opens, select PAY (NOT charge) from the drop down menu.
  • Click OK.
  • Print receipt, or the eReceipt will go out if the patron has signed up for it.
  • On the cash register, select the "LOST & PAID" button to ring it up.

If a patron brings in a damaged item and wants to pay for it:

DAMAGED ITEMS:

  • If the item is not already marked as LOST, click "Declare Lost".
  • In the box that opens, select PAY (NOT charge) from the drop down menu.
  • Click OK.
  • Print receipt, or the eReceipt will go out if the patron has signed up for it.
  • On the cash register, select the "DAMAGES" button to ring it up.

If the patron asks about replacing the item with a new copy, we do not take replacement copies. Please refer to the page on Replacing Damaged Items.
