Computer Passes

Creating passes for the public computers

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Open a new tab
  3. Click on Pre-Book tab in the line below that
  4. Enter library email and our password (see red binder, tab 8, if you don't remember)
  5. Click OK
  6. Click Temporary Barcodes
  7. Enter 10 for number of passes needed/patrons
  8. Check box for PINs (each pass needs a PIN)
  9. Click ADD
  10. Copy card number and pin for the passes generated (hyperlinks do not work)
  11. Go to desktop
  12. Open Excel spreadsheet TempCards.xlxs
  13. Paste into row 5
  14. Click OK
  15. Highlight all the cells with pass info
  16. Boldface the font
  17. Increase the font to 18 and use Times New Roman
  18. Highlight from "Benicia Public Library" down to the first line of information (row 5)
  19. File
  20. Print
  21. Select the Star Cutter - READY printer
  22. Where is says Print Active Sheet, click and select Print Selection
  23. Print
  24. Delete row 5 on the spreadsheet.
  25. Repeat from step 18 above until you are through all ten entries
  26. Close Excel, do not save the document changes
